Urgent call missed, but no message left. She missed it. Elizabeth was finalising her Annual report, reviewing last a few numbers for a monthly report, a first draft of the presentation to the Board was on its way… Very busy period, she really wanted to finish her final review of the Annual Report to be ready to send to a printing agency next morning and not to be disturbed by anybody.
Urgent call again. This time she picked it up. It was Shelley, a very good friend of her. She explained that she and her husband, Andy, were having a hard time with their son Jason and daughter Laura. Especially this time they were not willing to listen to them and not willing work as hard for school as she and Andy expected to be the case.
" It seems, I have to do everything at home. I feel like a slave,” said Shelley.
“What you have to do", said Elizabeth, "is learn to delegate work you do for your children at home to your children".
DELEGATION, is the secrecy if you want to raise independent and self-confident children”, said Elizabeth.
“Yes, but Jason and Laura are not ready to do work at house as they are just seven and nine years old. They do not know how to cook," - said Shelley. "Then you need to teach them," said Elizabeth.
"But I don’t have time to teach them to cook, I have busy job, we are in the middle of the acquisitions at my work. My husband is busy as well.” - said Shelley. "If that's the case", Eliza sighed deeply "you do have a problem. Why don't you come to visit us this weekend and let's have a talk?”.
